There are so many emotions on and off the dance floor. And one of them is annoyance! Here are 7 things that make every dancer go a little mad!
Hurry up bro!
You’re at a competition and just finished your first dance, music volume barely switched off, but the next heat is already running on to the dance floor pushing through to get your spot. Now, instead of bowing to the audience, you have someone’s chest right in your face.
Are you done yet?
On the other hand, some dancers from the previous heat take forever to bow, curtsy, send kisses, perform 20 piruettes etc as if they have just saved the World. Little tip- get on with it!
The World of Dance is against me!
Can you think of a dancer who always thinks they haven’t made a round because of a secret sabotage plotted against them? The most common complaints are:
– floor was too slippery
– venue wasn’t inspiring
– dance politics and set up of judges
– being in the strongest heat all the time
Yeah yeah- it’s everybody else’s fault!
When you arrive at a dance competition venue to find blankets and suitcases all around the changing room floor so there is no space for you. Other dancers came early and marked their territory so no you end up changing between in between a bin and a fire extinguisher.
Changing Room Slalom
When you have to move around dancers in the changing rooms and accidentally you touch another dancer’s 2-metre wide Ballroom dress. Then you get a deathly gaze as if you’ve just stolen their kidney.
Superstar has arrived!
It’s time to test the floor before your rounds and run though your choreos with the partner. There are always these couples who think they’re alone and dance full out bumping into everybody as if it was the World Dance Championships Final.
Diva in da house!
When you’re out social dancing and this one dancer decides to pull out all his competitive moves from past choreographies. Calm down Beyonce!
Do these sound familiar? 🙂 It’s actually good to write these things down in your Dance Journal. A few years later you will open it and laugh how couple number 23 annoyed you on a dance floor 🙂
